Paynes Crossing label WINS bronze at NSW Print Awards 2011

Payne’s Crossing ~ "The bridge that dad built"

The motivation for this label came from the very first wine we produced out of Broke in the Hunter Valley. I was driving home talking to my Dad on the phone, saying I needed a name for my new wine. He quickly replied "where is it from" and I said Broke in the Hunter Valley. He then explained that in the 50s he had been contracted to build a bridge at Payne’s Crossing not far from Broke. Ironically I drove over the bridge shortly after that phone call, got out and walked around ...the name was born.
